You can register to test Fallout 76’s Wastelanders expansion
Update will introduce human NPCs and a new quest line
Players can now register for a chance to test Fallout 76’s delayed Wastelanders update.
Originally scheduled to release in 2019 but now due to arrive in the first quarter of 2020, the Wastelanders expansion “changes the entire world” with the addition of human NPCs.
PC players have until 6pm ET / 3pm PT / 11pm UK on January 14 to register for a chance to try the update in a private test server beginning on January 17.
However, space is limited with Bethesda saying it’s “only looking for a few hundred players” at this stage.
Invited players will be required to complete a non-disclosure agreement forbidding them from sharing or discussing information about their experience.
The YouTube description for the Wastelanders gameplay trailer above reads: “One year after the opening of Vault 76, other humans have returned to Appalachia. Factions of Settlers and Raiders aim to make the world their own and claim a rumored fortune.
“Embark on a new main quest of choice and consequence, interact with characters and their unique stories, and collect powerful new weapons and armor. Your choices decide their fates.”
Bethesda introduced a premium subscription model for private Fallout 76 servers in October 2019.
Subscribers can pay $12.99/£11.99 per month or $99/£99.99 annually to play the game solo or with up to seven friends in a private world.
