Yakuza and Kingdom Hearts games are coming to Xbox

Legacy games in the Yakuza and Kingdom Hearts series are coming to Xbox.

Sega’s Yakuza 0, Kiwami and Kiwami 2 will be the first titles in the action adventure series to release on an Xbox platform, Microsoft announced at its X019 event in London on Thursday.

Meanwhile Square Enix’s first two Kingdom Hearts titles will also come to Xbox One for the first time.

Both the Yakuza and Kingdom Hearts titles will be available on Xbox Game Pass in 2020, Xbox said.

Speaking at a media briefing attended by VGC, Xbox head Phil Spencer said the announcements show the platform holder’s commitment to securing third-party content for Game Pass.

To date, no Yakuza games have been released for Xbox.

At X019, Spencer also confirmed that Final Fantasy titles, Bethesda’s Rage 2 and CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 will be added to the subscription service.

“The [Game Pass] third-party support globally is amazing and it’s something we know we need to continue to do top-notch work on,” he said.

“[We want] to make sure our Xbox fans have not only great games that Matt [Booty] and his team are bringing to market, but also the third-party games that I know are incredibly important to them.”

Sega recently announced Yakuza Remastered Collection, a PS4 bundle featuring Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5.
