Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is getting its own Nintendo Direct this week
The presentation will last around 20 minutes
Nintendo has announced that it’ll be hosting a Direct presentation dedicated to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 this week.
The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct will take place on Wednesday June 22, and starts at 10am EDT / 3pm BST.
According to Nintendo, the presentation will feature “roughly 20 minutes of information about the upcoming RPG adventure for Nintendo Switch.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was originally planned for a September release, but Nintendo revealed in April that it had moved the release date forward to July 29.
According to Nintendo, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will feature a story that ties together the futures of the worlds depicted in Xenoblade Chronicles and its sequel, Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
“A vast world awaits in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the next game in the acclaimed RPG series from developer Monolith Soft,” Nintendo said in a press release in February.
“Players will step into the roles of protagonists Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the hostile nations of Keves and Agnus.
“Six characters hailing from those nations will take part in a grand tale with ‘life’ as its central theme.”
Although the game itself will be released on July 29, its Collector’s Edition has essentially been ‘delayed’ as a result, because the other physical items won’t be ready in time.
As such, a message on Nintendo’s official UK online store states that players who buy the Collector’s Edition will only receive the game on July 29, with the other items to follow at a later date.
The US Nintendo website doesn’t have this message yet, but it does paint a similar picture regardless: the standard edition of the game has a July 29 release date, but the Special Edition (as it’s known there) simply says “releasing in TBD”.
Nintendo has still yet to announce its next general Nintendo Direct presentation, but it’s been claimed that it’s planned for the end of June.
Sony Santa Monica writer and former games journalist Alanah Pearce stated last week that the next Nintendo Direct is coming on June 29th.
Pearce’s comments match with what VGC has been told – that Nintendo is planning a Direct later this month.
UPDATE 27/06/22: Nintendo has confirmed that its next Nintendo Direct will take place on June 28 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST.
