Xbox mini documentary goes behind the scenes of its E3 briefing

Platform holder shows how it put on its biggest show of the year

Microsoft has released a short documentary showing off some of the work that goes into putting on its annual E3 briefing – “Xbox’s biggest moment of the year”.

The video covers the walkthrough which takes place two days ahead the show, the dress rehearsal the day before it, plus a little of the main event itself and the post-show celebrations.

It features insights from lesser known faces like Xbox experiential program manager Annie Spencer and head of security Bobby Sithimorada, who say that planning for each year’s show is a year-round process.

Ninja Theory creative director Rahni Tucker also discusses her first E3 as she gears up to unveil the studio’s new game Bleeding Edge in front of 1,500 fans, with millions more tuning in at home, while Xbox boss Phil Spencer, attending his 17th E3, is front and centre throughout the documentary.

Notably, Microsoft used its Xbox E3 2019 briefing to announce new Project Scarlett details, including plans to launch the console next year alongside Halo Infinite. You can check out all of VGC’s E3 2019 coverage here.

E3 2020 will take place from June 9-11, 2020 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
