Microsoft is investigating reports of consoles powering off or quitting to home when playing some games.

The Xbox Support Twitter account first acknowledged that the problem was affecting some NBA 2K22 players on September 14.

In the responses to this acknowledgement, one user said they had also encountered the problem while playing the Call of Duty Vanguard beta, while another said they ran into the issue when playing Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Over a week later the issue has yet to be resolved, and on Friday Microsoft said its investigation had been expanded to cover reports of similar problems affecting FIFA 22 and Madden NFL 22 players.

“Teams are continuing to investigate reports of consoles powering off or quitting to home while playing NBA 2K22,” the platform holder tweeted.

“This investigation also includes similar issues that may be seen while playing Madden 22 and FIFA 22. We’ll update you as soon as we are able.”

The Early Access trial of FIFA 22 launched on Wednesday for players with EA Play or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.

Microsoft recently released Xbox’s September system update, which introduced a new Edge web browser and fresh ways to access games remotely on PC.
