Xbox has announced a digital-only Xbox Series X
The console will be available this holiday, alongside a 2TB disc-based Series X
Xbox has officially announced its long-reported digital-only Xbox Series X.
The white, disc-less 1TB console will be released this holiday season, alongside a white 1TB Xbox Series S and a special edition 2TB ‘Galaxy Black’ Xbox Series X with a disc tray.
“Experience the fastest, most powerful Xbox ever with Xbox Series X, now with a 2TB SSD in special edition Galaxy Black,” Xbox’s official description reads.
“Also meet the all-digital Xbox Series X, now in Robot White with a 1TB SSD. Immerse yourself with sharper characters, brighter worlds, and impossible details with true-to-life 4K gaming and sensationally smooth frame rates of up to 120 FPS with the visual pop of DirectX ray tracing.
“Experience the best value in gaming with Xbox Series S, now with a 1TB SSD in Robot White. Make the most of every gaming minute with Quick Resume, lightning-fast load times, and gameplay of up to 120 FPS.”
The new 1TB digital edition of Xbox Series X/S will cost $449.99/€499.99.
The special edition Galaxy Black Xbox Series X, which comes with a 2TB SSD instead of the typical 1TB one, will cost $599.99/€649.99. It “features a silver, grey, and green celestial effect representing thousands of games and millions of gamers playing on Xbox”, according to Xbox.
Finally, the white 1TB Xbox Series S will cost $349.99/€349.99. It appears it will be replacing the current 1TB Xbox Series S, which is black, with Microsoft saying it will still be available for purchase “while supplies last”.
