Xbox Game Pass is teasing the addition of a ‘much discussed’ game
The head of Xbox previously said Control would come to the subscription service
Xbox Game Pass is teasing the addition of a mystery game in December.
The Xbox Game Pass Twitter account has posted an image (below) of a mocked-up email exchange which points to a big month in store for the subscription service.
“We’re not slowing down for December,” the message reads. “EA Play is coming to PC and we have a ton of games slated on top of that!
“We even included REDACTED, which our fans won’t stop mentioning (that’s why I sent you that .gif with the sinister red light).”
The tweet has fuelled speculation that Remedy’s Control will be made available on Game Pass.
UPDATE 01/12/20: Microsoft has detailed the next wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass for console, PC and Android including Control, Call of the Sea, Greedfall, Haven, Rage 2, and Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES:
The supernatural action game’s world is littered with collectable messages featuring redacted information, while a red light is used to visually represent the title’s antagonist, the Hiss.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in December 2019 that Control was coming to Xbox Games Pass, although publisher 505 Games subsequently denied this was the case.
The title was later released for Sony’s cloud gaming service PlayStation Now.
In September, Microsoft used a similar tweet to the one above to tease Doom’s Xbox Game Pass release shortly before its official announcement.
VGC’s Control review called the game “Remedy’s finest creation since the original Max Payne”.
