Xbox Game Pass is adding Red Dead Redemption 2, Halo 2, DayZ and Final Fantasy IX
May’s additions to the console and PC subscription service detailed
Microsoft has announced the next wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass, including Red Dead Redemption 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary.
On Xbox One, Rockstar’s blockbuster sequel joins the subscription service’s library on May 7, as does open world survival game DayZ. They’ll be followed by Final Fantasy IX on May 14 and Fractured Minds on May 19.
On PC, Halo 2: Anniversary will join Game Pass on May 12 and Final Fantasy IX will follow on May 14. Endless Legend is “coming soon” according to Microsoft.
Game Pass titles released in April included Football Manager 2020, Journey to the Savage Planet, Gears Tactics, The Long Dark and Machinarium.
Grand Theft Auto V will leave Game Pass for console on May 7, while the following titles will leave on May 15:
- Black Desert
- Doom
- Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game
- Mega Man Legacy Collection 2
- Metal Gear Survive
- The Banner Saga
- Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Microsoft recently announced record engagement figures for gaming services including Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live.
Game Pass subscribers topped 10 million and Xbox Live active users approached 90 million during the company’s third financial quarter ended March 31, 2020.
“People everywhere are turning to gaming to sustain human connection while practising social distancing and we continue to deliver new exclusive first and third-party content to attract and retain gamers,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in late April.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines Xbox Live Gold membership with Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.
May’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles include V-Rally, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr, Sensible World of Soccer and Overlord II.
