Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Meta Quest

Microsoft has announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Meta Quest.

The company’s CEO, Satya Nadella, revealed the news during the Meta Connect 2022 livestream on Monday.

Xbox Cloud Gaming enables you to stream hundreds of high-quality games to a range of devices—and that will include Meta Quest 2 in the future,” Meta said in an accompanying blog post.

“When Xbox Cloud Gaming launches on the Meta Quest Store, you’ll be able to hook up an Xbox controller to your headset and play console games from the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library on a massive 2D screen, like having a private movie theater available at all times.

“No date yet, but we hope to share more on this as soon as possible,” it added.

During Monday’s event, Meta also announced the acquisition of game development studios Camouflaj, Armature and Twisted Pixel.

Camouflaj is a Seattle-based studio founded by former Metal Gear Solid producer Ryan Payton. It previously developed Republique and PlayStation VR game Iron Man VR, which is coming to Quest 2 on November 3, 2022.

Founded by key members of the Metroid Prime series, Texas-based Armature is the studio most recently behind Resident Evil 4 VR, Where the Heart Leads and Ark: Genesis Part 1.

Twisted Metal is the Texas-based studio behind games including The Maw, ‘Splosion Man, Wilson’s Heart and Path of the Warrior.
