Xbox and Switch versions of Fall Guys are ‘finalising development’, developer claims
“It’s still coming,” Mediatonic assures players, as crossplay arrives for PS4 and PC
Fall Guys developer Mediatonic has assured fans that Xbox and Switch ports of the game are still in development.
In a new update announcing its Season 6 Mid-Season content, the studio promised that work on bringing Fall Guys to both systems is still underway and nearing its conclusion.
“We know that news regarding Fall Guys on Nintendo Switch and Xbox is highly anticipated,” the studio said. “We’re finalising development, and though it isn’t within this update, it’s still coming.”
The team also announced that the existing PS4 and PC versions of Fall Guys now have full cross-play support.
Players can sign in with their Epic account and use it to create lobbies containing friends playing on both PC and PlayStation.
“Though you were previously able to form cross-platform lobbies in Custom Shows, this now means you can party-up and enjoy any of our applicable playlists in Fall Guys – from Squads, to Duos, to Main Show and beyond,” Mediatonic said.
The Mid-Season update also includes a new mode called Sweet Thieves, which splits players into two groups called Thieves and Guardians. Thieves have to steal pieces of candy, while Guardians have to catch them and send them to jail.
Epic Games revealed in March last year that it had acquired Tonic Games Group, the parent company of Mediatonic, for an undisclosed sum.
Announcing the move, the studio’s new owner said Fall Guys “gameplay isn’t changing” and that it would continue to support the title across platforms, including Steam.
