Xbox and Adidas have launched their third and final sneaker collaboration
New Xbox Series X-inspired trainers cost $140 / £110
Microsoft and Adidas have revealed and released their third and final Xbox-themed sneaker collaboration.
Priced at $140 / £110, the new Adidas Forum Tech Boost is the first-ever Xbox sneaker available to purchase globally.
The design was inspired by Microsoft’s latest games console, Xbox Series X.
“The silhouette is a bold start in jet-black, amped further with pops of neon green and tech-driven details”, said Xbox consumer products marketing manager James Monosmith.
“Draped in black netting against a green liner, the inside of the shoe resembles the iconic green vents of the Xbox Series X. The sneaker also includes our modern Xbox sphere logo with subtle highlights, to represent our console power button and the elegant style of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller.
“To pay homage to our anniversary in a unique way, we drew additional design inspiration from the Xbox 20th Anniversary Wireless Controller Special Edition. Mirroring the grips on the controller, the shoe features a green heel and translucent sole, pulling directly from the shell of the controller. And as a final touch to celebrate this moment, there is a small Xbox 20th Anniversary logo tucked inside on the sock liner.”
Xbox announced in October that it had partnered with Adidas to create a series of sneakers designed to celebrate the console brand’s 20th anniversary in November.
At the time it revealed the first design from the partnership, which was inspired by the special edition release of the original Xbox console for the launch of Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001. However, the Xbox 20th Forum Tech sneakers weren’t made available to purchase.
The second design, the Xbox 360 Forum Mid, was revealed in November and was the first-ever Xbox-themed sneaker available to purchase in the US and Canada.
