WWE superstar Randy Orton says he’s put 600 hours into Elden Ring
“I wish you were a fellow tarnished”, he tells WWE champ Cody Rhodes
WWE superstar Randy Orton says he’s played Elden Ring for around 600 hours.
In an interview with current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as part of his What Do You Wanna Talk About series of videos, the wrestler said he had an obsession with the game.
After discussing John Cena’s appearance in Mortal Kombat as his Peacemaker character, Orton admitted that he used to make fun of Rhodes for playing video games a lot, and that now he did too.
“I don’t know if you’re still a gamer,” Orton said. “I used to give you shit about being a gamer.”
“Yeah, that’s you now,” Rhodes replied. “Elden Ring?”
“Oh, I fucking love Elden Ring,” Orton replied. “I’ve got… I almost don’t even want to say. Now, keep in mind, this game came out… in six, seven, eight months, whatever February is, it’ll be three years since it came out.
“And also, let me preface this next statement with saying that I was out with spinal fusion surgery so I had a lot of time on my hands. I got, like, 600 hours on the game.”
He added: “I love that game. DLC just came out.”
Rhodes, who used to fight wearing boots with a Zelda Triforce on them, confessed that he hadn’t played the game, saying: “You asked me something about Elden Ring the other day, and I didn’t lie to your face, but I just kinda went ‘yeah’. You mentioned that you were playing and I was like ‘ah, I’m not’.”
“You don’t got the time,” Orton replied, referring to Rhodes’s title. “You’re killing it and you don’t got the time, and I understand why. I would love to chop it up about some Elden Ring with you, trust me. I wish you were a fellow Tarnished, but you’re not.
“Brother, I get lost in it. The kids go to sleep, I give my wife the iPad and say ‘hey, buy stuff on Amazon‘ and then I’ll just play. Oh God, it’s like Christmas every day at my house.”
Back in 2022, Rhodes was interviewed by WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin, who asked him in a quick-fire round what his favourite Zelda game was.
Rhodes replied “Ocarina of Time, hands down,” to which Austin, who isn’t known to play games, replied: “No, dude. Breath of the Wild.”
