WWE 2K22 DLC wrestler Nash Carter released by WWE following abuse allegations

Nash Carter, a former WWE Superstar who is scheduled to be included in an upcoming DLC pack for WWE 2K22, has been released by the company following abuse allegations.

Nash Carter (real name Zachary Green) was released by WWE on Wednesday following allegations from his wife, fellow professional wrestler Kimber Lee (real name Kimberly Ann Green) that Carter had “got wasted and hit me so hard he split my lip open”. The claim was accompanied by a picture Lee posted to Twitter showing her bruised face.

Carter was scheduled to be added to WWE 2K22 in June as part of the Stand Back Pack, which would also feature his tag team partner Wes Lee. Lee and Carter were the NXT Tag Team Champions at the time of Carter’s release.

WWE have yet to release an official statement at the time of publication. VGC has reached out to 2K to ask for a comment on the situation and whether the DLC plans will be altered.

According to notable wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, the decision to make Carter an NXT Tag Team Champion was made after the abuse allegations surfaced, however, the company then decided to release Carter following the images that have emerged online.

One image, also posted by Kimber Lee, shows Carter making a “Nazi salute” after having shaved his moustache to resemble Adolf Hitler. Lee also alleged that Carter regularly made “countless anti LGBTQIA+ statements”.

Carter has yet to comment publicly following his release. It’s unclear whether WWE plans to address the situation on television.

Players who purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game or the nWo 4-Life Edition were set to receive Carter as part of a suite of DLC that includes Logan Paul and Mr T.
