Wonderful 101 Remastered gets first gameplay footage from PAX East
15-minute video shows Platinum’s title running on Switch
The first Wonderful 101 Remastered gameplay videos have emerged from PAX East, where the upcoming title is being demoed.
They include a 15-minute video of the title running on Nintendo Switch, published by GameSpot, which you can view above.
The action-adventure game first released for Wii U in 2013 but is being brought to Switch, PS4 and PC via Steam following a successful Kickstarter campaign which has so far generated over £1.4 million.
The Wonderful 101: Remastered release date was recently confirmed to be May 19 in North America and May 22 in Europe.
In a The Wonderful 101 Remastered interview published earlier this month, Platinum studio head Atsushi Inaba told VGC that the crowdfunding campaign was a way for fans to help the studio become more independent and move into self-publishing.
Platinum announced a new action game called Project G.G. on Wednesday. It’s described as the “climax” to director Hideki Kamiya’s superhero trilogy, following Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101, as well as the studio’s “first fully owned and self-published title.”
And on Thursday Platinum revealed its new Tokyo studio will lead the company’s expansion into live service games for consoles.
