WNBA team the New York Liberty is collaborating with Xbox to play on a Starfield-themed court.

The unique design, which features Starfield‘s trademark rainbow-like colouring in the key and Starfield logos near the halfway line, will be applied to the court at the Barclays Center.

It will be used for the team’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks later today, as well as its game against the Washington Mystics on Sunday, September 10.

This is the second time the Liberty has teamed up with Xbox for a video game inspired court. Last year the team had an Xbox-themed court for two games in August.

This marks the first time the court will be based on a specific game, however.

“We’re proud to continue our award-winning partnership with Xbox showcasing another first-of-its-kind secondary court and the global launch of Starfield,” New York Liberty CEO Keia Clarke said in a statement.

“Continuing our partnership with Xbox provides a unique opportunity to reach and engage with new fans, while also creating synergy between the WNBA and gaming communities.

“This collaboration will come to life during historic times for both sides, with Bethesda Studios releasing its largest video game in over a decade, and the New York Liberty having its best season in franchise history.”

Starfield was released on September 6 for Xbox Series X/S, PC via Windows and Steam, and Game Pass.

According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, the game topped one million concurrent players on its official launch day.
