With the new PS5 model, the Digital Edition is getting a $50 price increase
PS5 prices are also going up in Japan
With the launch of the new PlayStation 5 model, the price of the Digital Edition console will rise by $50.
Sony announced on Tuesday that it plans to launch a smaller PS5 model in November in the US, before rolling it out to other regions in the following months.
Like the launch model, the new one will be available in two forms: a standard one featuring a disc drive and a Digital Edition without one.
The price of the new PS5 model and the old one will be the same in the UK and Europe.
However, the new Digital Edition console will be $50 more expensive in the US, where it will cost $449.99 instead of $399.99.
And the price of both new PS5 editions will be more expensive in Japan, where peripheral prices are also increasing this month.
It’s worth noting that the new PS5 model will come with a 1TB SSD, offering more storage space than the launch model’s 825GB SSD.
Sony said that once inventory of the current PS5 model has sold out, the new model will become the only one available.
