What time does the MultiVersus open beta go live?

The MultiVersus open beta will go live today for everyone, having been open to some users for the past week.

An ‘early access’ version of the beta went live last week – this was only available to certain players first.

This early access period was mainly open to those who participated in previous tests, including the closed alpha earlier this year, but other players were able to access the game through Twitch Drops or by buying a Founder’s Pack.

As of later today, though, the beta will fully open to all players.

Update

The MultiVersus open beta is now available in the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

For anyone who doesn’t have early access yet, the proper open beta will start today (July 26) at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST.

The game will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC with full cross-play support.

To all intents and purposes, the open beta will mark the game’s official release, with players able to start their game progress from today and assurances from Warner Bros Games that this progress won’t be wiped.

The open beta will include the following at launch:

An end date has not been set for the open beta, which will “continue to get updated with new characters, maps, seasonal content, and more in the months ahead”, suggesting any ‘final’ release will simply come as an update to the existing software.

The open beta will be free-to-play and will include optional in-game purchases, and any progress or purchases made during the beta period will remain intact when the game comes out of beta.

“Player progression and unlocks earned during the MultiVersus Open Beta will carry forward through the life of the game,” Warner Bros Games confirmed.

Because it’s a free-to-play game, players do not need a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live membership to play MultiVersus.
