Critically acclaimed game arrives on Nintendo’s console on July 4
Giant Sparrow’s award-winning What Remains of Edith Finch will be released on Nintendo Switch worldwide on Friday July 4.
Publisher Annapurna Interactive released the Switch gameplay trailer above to coincide with the launch date announcement.
Developed by Giant Sparrow, What Remains of Edith Finch is a single-player narrative adventure game consisting of a collection of short stories about a cursed family in Washington State.
Played from a first-person perspective, you explore the history of Edith Finch’s family as she attempts to figure out why she’s the last Finch left alive.
Originally released on PC and PS4 in April 2017, and on Xbox One in July that year, it has won a string of high-profile awards including BAFTA’s Best Game 2018, and Best Narrative at both the 2018 Game Developers Choice Awards and The Game Awards 2017.
The Switch version of What Remains of Edith Finch will cost $19.99 in the US, with UK pricing still to be confirmed.
If Switch isn’t your platform of choice, the game’s currently £6.74/$8.99 in the Steam summer sale. In the UK it’s also £6.74 on PS4 until July 10 (it’s $19.99 in the US). On Xbox One it’s £15.99/$19.99, or free for Game Pass subscribers.
