Watch Dogs Legion gets a free trial, new patch and updated content roadmap

Ubisoft will offer a Watch Dogs Legion free trial on all platforms from March 25-29.

Pre-load will be available beginning on Wednesday, the day before the free trial launches for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 (through PS4 backwards compatibility), Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store on PC.

Ubisoft says every character in the game will be available to recruit and play as in the trial, and all open-world activities will be available.

Players will get the chance to explore four of the game’s eight London boroughs and sample the story up to the Skye Larsen mission.

Ubisoft is discounting the full game on all platforms over the coming weeks too, and progress made in the free trial can be carried over should players choose to buy it.

The publisher also released the latest Watch Dogs Legion patch on Tuesday alongside an updated roadmap for the game’s post-launch content plan.

Title update 3.25 (see full patch notes below) unlocks the first, delayed Tactical Op for the game’s online mode, which was held back due to an issue that resulted in game crashes. It offers four-player co-op endgame content including five interconnected narrative missions.

Two new PvP modes (Invasion and Extraction) and a fresh Tactical Op (Project Omni) will be made available to all players in late May.

Between April and August, Watch Dogs Legion Season Pass owners will also receive access to a story expansion called Bloodline, which includes Aiden Pearce from the original Watch Dogs and Wrench from Watch Dogs 2, plus two additional characters with their own missions: Assassin’s Creed heroine Darcy and transhuman Mina, who has the power of mind control.
