Watch 10 minutes of F1 22’s new Miami track

The first ever Miami Grand Prix takes place this weekend, as the fifth race in the 2022 Formula One season.

For the past few days, we’ve been going hands-on with a preview version of F1 22, the next instalment in EA and Codemasters‘ Formula One series of racing games.

While we’ll be bringing you our full thoughts in a more detailed preview next week, for now we’ve recorded 10 minutes of footage from the Miami track so you can see it before the real-life race takes place.

You can watch the footage below:

The footage was captured from early preview code of the PC version, and was captured with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 running at 1080p on High settings.

It’s worth bearing in mind that the game is still two months away from completion, and as such the footage is not an exact indication of its final quality, and may contain some graphical issues that may not necessarily be present when the game is released.

F1 22 promises a redefined and customisable race day experience with new Immersive and Broadcast options that impact formation laps, safety car periods and pit stops.

Announcing the game in April, EA said refreshed practice options, adaptive AI, and accessible menus and handling have been designed to let less experienced players “get to the action quickly without the need to understand the complexities of the sport”.

As previously leaked, F1 22 also includes a new mode called F1 Life, which EA said lets players “step into the glamorous world of Formula 1”. It’s described as “a customisable hub to show off their collection of supercars, clothing, and accessories, earned via gameplay”.

The PC version of the game also supports VR functionality via Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
