Warzone Best AK-47 loadout – Season 3
Build the best Cold War AK-47 loadout for Warzone and Cold War
In this guide to the Warzone Best AK-47 Loadout for Season 3, we show you how to build the best class for the Cold War assault rifle that offers a powerful option.
Following the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 update, a lot of the battle royale title’s weaponry has been enhanced to offer a wider range of options. One of the best examples of this is the AK-47, an assault rifle that was previously plagued by poor recoil but now finds its way into the meta.
The recoil has been hugely improved for the AK-47 in Season 3, and the weapon now present a great option thanks to its faster time to kill (TTK) and decent damage output.
Below you’ll find our recommendations for the best loadouts for your play style.

WARZONE BEST AK-47 LOADOUT: SEASON 3
In this article we’ll detail the best AK-47 loadout for:
- Best AK-47 loadout: Medium range
- Best AK-47 loadout: Long range
- Best AK-47 loadout: All-round
BEST AK-47 LOADOUT: MEDIUM RANGE
- Muzzle: Suppressor
- Optic: Hawksmoor
- Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
- Ammunition: 45 Rnd
- Rear Grip: GRU Elastic Wrap
The (CW) AK-47 is an assault rifle, so it works best at long range, but you can actually deck it out to feel more like an SMG. One of the quirks of the Cold War assault rifles is that they offer high mobility (more so than Modern Warfare assault rifles). This means you can use a Cold War assault rifle to reap the benefits at long range, while maintaining the mobility of something close to an SMG.
For the medium range (CW) AK-47 build, we recommend the Suppressor Muzzle to remain hidden from the minimap when firing. Typically, you’d use the GRU Suppressor for added recoil control, bullet velocity, and damage range, but since this build is meant for close to medium range, you’ll want to preserve your aim down sights (ADS) speeds by using the Suppressor instead.
Then, go with an Optic of some kind, preferably something with minimal zoom so as to not penalize your ADS speeds. With this build, ADS speeds and mobility are key. We like the Hawksmoor Optic since it provides a clean picture of your opponents with minimal zoom.

Then, we recommend the KGB Skeletal Stock, which improves your sprint to fire time, aim walking movement speed, and hip fire accuracy. All of these benefits are ideal for close to medium range battles. We also highly suggest using the 45 Rnd Ammunition since the standard 30 rounds simply isn’t enough, especially when playing team modes. You can use the 60 Rnd mags instead, but we don’t recommend it, as it will negatively impact your ADS speeds. 45 rounds should do the trick with this build.
Last up, go with the GRU Elastic Wrap for improved ADS speeds, shooting movement speed, and sprint to fire time – all of which are essential when using this as an SMG. You’ll find this to be an effective loadout since it packs a punch and can still be used from afar since it’s an assault rifle.
BEST AK-47 LOADOUT: LONG RANGE
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
- Barrel: 20” Liberator
- Optic: Sillix Holoscout (or Visiontech 2x)
- Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
- Ammunition: Bakelite 60 Rnd
Next, let’s cover the best Warzone Cold War AK-47 loadout for long range. After all, it’s an assault rifle, so you’ll find it to be most effective at range. To help with this, we advise swapping to the GRU Suppressor Muzzle, for an increase to vertical recoil control, bullet velocity, and damage range, while keeping you off the minimap.
The 20” Liberator Barrel is yet another major piece of the puzzle, as it improves your bullet velocity as well. These first two attachments will greatly impact how your AK-47 performs at long range. After that, use whichever Optic you prefer, but ideally, you should use something with decent magnification like the Visiontech 2x.
With this being a ranged build, you’ll need as much recoil control as you can get. That’s where the Spetsnaz Grip Underbarrel comes into play, which will improve your recoil control across the board. You’ll notice the effects of this when taking pop shots from afar.
Finally, we recommend using the Bakelite 60 Rnd Ammunition since you’ll need more rounds to eliminate foes from afar. The (CW) AK-47 already has great reload speeds, so this attachment won’t hinder you as much as you’d expect.
BEST AK-47 LOADOUT: ALL-ROUND
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
- Barrel: 20” Liberator
- Optic: Sillix Holoscout
- Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Grip
- Ammunition: 45 Rnd
Last but not least, let’s take a look at a hybrid of the previous two builds. This is an all-around build that gives you the best of both worlds: Range and speed. This loadout won’t be as lightweight as the medium range option, but it’ll still feel manageable.
Start off once again with the GRU Suppressor Muzzle to help improve how the AK-47 performs at range (while keeping you from appearing on the minimap). Then, go with the 20” Liberator Barrel for that boost to bullet velocity. After that, we advise going with a lower zoom optic like the Sillix Holoscout or Hawksmoor. This will improve your ADS speeds over using something like the 2x or 3x.
Then, stick with the Spetsnaz Grip for that added recoil control. This is highly useful with the (CW) AK-47 since it still has noticeable recoil, even after its recent buff. Lastly, swap over to the 45 Rnd Ammunition type to improve your ADS speeds, while still giving you the necessary rounds to take out more than one enemy at a time.
