Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 details revealed as launch is delayed
New content will include the return of Resurgence and a small new map for Warzone 2
Infinity Ward has delayed the launch of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 until mid-February.
Previously expected to launch at the start of February based on the battle pass countdown timer, the second season of content will now arrive on February 15.
“Our studio teams have been making several changes based on what we have heard from our player community,” an update on the Call of Duty Twitter account reads.
“Season 2 includes all new content, with the return of Resurgence and a brand new small map for Warzone 2.0.
“Ranked play is also back and coming to Modern Warfare 2, along with new multiplayer maps, new modes, weapons and much more.”
Developer Infinity Ward added: “We look forward to sharing more details on the updates coming to Season 02 in a deep-dive studio blog next week. This includes exciting changes to Warzone 2.0 including the gulag, looting and loadouts.”
Details and artwork for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 seemingly leaked in December.
Season 2 will reportedly feature the multiplayer map Castle, which was originally included in Call of Duty World at War and was also remastered for last year’s Call of Duty Vanguard.
It will also reportedly include the return of the operator Ronin, who was originally released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2020.
Ranked Play will deliver competitive modes, ranked skill divisions, visible skill ratings, a top 250 leaderboard, and rewards for top players.
