Warner Bros U-turns on decision to delist indie games published by Adult Swim

Warner Bros has U-turned on a decision to delist indie games previously published by Adult Swim.

In March, Owen Deery, who develops games as one-man studio Fire Face, said he had learned that his game Small Radios Big Televisions was set to be delisted.

The game was published in November 2016 by Adult Swim, which is now owned by Warner Bros Discovery.

Deery said he had been informed by Warner Bros that his game would soon be delisted, and would no longer be available to buy, saying he was told the reason was down to “business changes”.

Deery decided to make the PC version of the game available to download for free on his website, to combat Warner Bros’ decision to delist it.

However, he recently posted on X that Warner Bros had changed its mind, and that the game will soon be his to do what he wants with it.

“Update – game will not be ‘retired’,” Deery wrote. “Ownership and store listings will return to me.”

Other indie developers have been reporting similar news, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.

Duck Game developer Landon Podbielski said the game was “safe”, adding: “More details soon but the email from Warner finally came. The game is being returned to Corptron along with its store pages on all platforms. It’s not going anywhere. Thank you everyone, hoping everyone else got the same email.”

Development studio Super Mega Team replied: “We got the same email too for Rise & Shine! Glad they are doing the right thing.”
