Virgin Media customers can access the Marvel’s Avengers beta this weekend
They’ll also be able to redeem exclusive character costumes next month
Virgin Media customers can register their details online to receive a Marvel’s Avengers beta code.
The game’s beta kicked off last weekend for PS4 pre-order customers. It returns this weekend for all PS4 players, and for Xbox One and PC pre-order customers, ahead of an open beta weekend on all platforms beginning on August 21.
Virgin Media and Verizon Up customers will also be able to redeem exclusive character costumes when Square Enix‘s superhero game releases next month.
The publisher will offer another set of exclusive costumes as part of a promotion with Intel. And those who purchase special packs of 5 Gum in the US will be able to claim a special in-game emote.
Square Enix previously confirmed it has a global marketing deal with PlayStation, which includes timed exclusive cosmetics for all characters.
Developer Crystal Dynamics also revealed this month that Spider-Man will be added to the Marvel’s Avengers roster in early 2021, “available at no additional cost to owners of the base game, exclusively on PlayStation”.
Asked how Xbox and PC gamers who want to play as Spider-Man should feel, studio head Scot Amos said they “have the option to do so on PlayStation”.
“I would say that Marvel’s Avengers has a lot of heroes, and with the scope and the breadth of this game and this universe, players are going to have their hands full with a lot to play with,” he added.
Marvel’s Avengers will be released for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia on September 4, 2020. Avengers is also set to launch on next-generation consoles later this year and owners of the current-gen version will be able to upgrade at no additional cost.
