Video shows Xbox Series X’s leaked controller being unboxed

Consumers started acquiring next-gen game pads this week

An unboxing video has been published showing Xbox’s next-gen Series X/S controller.

The peripherals started making their way into the hands of some consumers this week, with at least some having allegedly been sold on reseller sites.

The white controller in this video has not been officially announced. Significantly, its box also mentions the unannounced Xbox Series S console, which is expected to be confirmed this month.

As reported by multiple media outlets including VGC, the console codenamed Lockhart – or Series S, as it looks set to be called – is a less powerful version of Series X that will likely target cost-conscious consumers.

Lockhart development kits are understood to have been with studios for several months, with next-gen Xbox developers expected to support both Series X and Lockhart in a setup similar to the existing Xbox One X and Xbox One S consoles, and PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has suggested that Xbox will publish its latest next-gen console news this month.
