UK retailer Currys will now repair Xbox consoles
Currys will repair your Xbox regardless of where you bought it
Xbox players in the UK can now get their Xbox consoles repaired at Currys.
The tech retailer has become the region’s only Xbox Authorised Service Provider, meaning it has partnered with Microsoft to offer official repairs of the video game systems.
Currys will repair Xbox consoles both in and out of warranty. Xbox players can get their consoles repaired at any Currys store, regardless of where they originally purchased them. If they aren’t near a store, they can also book to have their consoles sent away for repair.
Lindsay Haselhurst, Currys’ chief operating officer said: “We are so proud to see our repair partnership with Microsoft flourish. It’s collaborations like this that help us to help more customers enjoy their tech for longer.
“This is good news for players, opening up a huge network to get their tech fixed; it’s good news for Currys, helping to change the consumer relationship with tech for the better; and it’s good news for the planet, and the battle to combat the UK’s e-waste crisis.”
The UK generates around 6 million tons of e-waste each year, which is largely made up of broken or unwanted electronics that aren’t disposed of correctly. The UK is the world’s second-largest polluter of e-waste per capita.
