UK Jedi Fallen Order sales rise ahead of Star Wars Rise of Skywalker’s release
But Modern Warfare in pole position to secure Christmas chart No.1 spot
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reclaimed the top spot on the UK all formats chart during the week ended December 14.
Despite a 10% drop in sales week-on-week, it means the game is in pole position to secure the Christmas No1 spot, which was claimed by Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 and Call of Duty: WW2 in 2017.
However, it may face late competition from the current No.2 Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which saw sales increase 30% week-on-week ahead of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s theatrical release on Thursday.
Respawn’s action adventure game was just 3,000 physical sales behind Modern Warfare last week (the UKIE/GfK UK chart only covers boxed sales), according to GamesIndustry.biz.
The previous week’s best-seller, FIFA 20, dropped two places to No.3, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Luigi’s Mansion 3 rounded off the top five.
