Ubisoft has made a further appointment to manage its Far Cry franchise.

Montreal studio veteran Sandra Warren has been promoted to vice president and executive producer of the Far Cry brand, Ubisoft announced on Monday.

Warren joined Ubisoft in 2006 and has been involved in the Far Cry series since 2016’s Primal. Most recently, she was the brand producer for Far Cry 6.

In her new role, she’ll manage the entire brand with teams located around the world, according to Ubisoft.

“With her proven industry experience and respected position within the organization, she will collaborate with the team responsible for brand portfolio management, the editorial department, and the international production team,” it said.

Ubisoft Montreal GM Christophe Derennes commented: “Sandra is an exemplary leader who seamlessly combines her experience in video game production with a global perspective on the brand.

“Her profound understanding of the studio dynamics and her innate ability to foster collaborative relationships make her an asset to the team. We invite the community to join us in congratulating her and wishing her the best in this new role.”

Warren’s appointment follows the promotion of Far Cry 5 writer Drew Holmes to Far Cry IP director earlier this month. VGC understands Warren will have the most senior role of the pair in terms of production, while Holmes will oversee the creative roadmap for the series.

According to press reports earlier this year, Ubisoft is currently developing Far Cry 7 and a standalone Far Cry multiplayer game.

It’s claimed that Far Cry 7 is being made with Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, rather than the Dunia engine used for recent series entries. The multiplayer game is currently an extraction-based shooter set in the Alaskan wilderness, it’s claimed.

Both titles are said to be tentatively scheduled for release in the fall/autumn of 2025.
