Ubisoft is giving away the PC version of Far Cry 3 for free
Players can claim their copy through Ubisoft Connect by September 11
Ubisoft has announced that the PC version of Far Cry 3 is currently available for free.
Players can claim their free copy of the game by visiting this page, logging into their Ubisoft Connect account and choosing the ‘Ubisoft Connect PC’ logo.
If an error message is shown, make sure the URL shows the correct country (i.e. en-GB for British players, en-US for players in the United States, etc).
The game will remain free until September 11 at 7.30am at the time zone registered to the player’s Ubisoft Connect account.
Once the game has been redeemed, it will remain in the player’s Ubisoft Connect library and be fully playable for free, even after the deadline has passed.
Far Cry 3’s antagonist Vaas Montenegro will be one of three villains playable in story DLC for Far Cry 6, along with Pagan Min from Far Cry 4 and Joseph Seed from Far Cry 5.
According to Ubisoft, all the original voice actors for these characters will be returning to reprise their roles.
“Delve into these iconic villain’s twisted minds, uncover their backstories, battle their inner demons, and reunite with familiar faces,” the publisher says.
Far Cry 6 was originally due for release in February 2021 but will now launch on October 7 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store.
In VGC’s recent Far Cry 6 hands-on preview, we said: “Whether Far Cry 6’s small steps forward – and its stunning environments – are enough to entertain fans for another open-world epic will remain to be seen, but right now the game feels more like a guerrilla evolution than revolution.”
