Ubisoft has revealed the first The Division Resurgence gameplay
Players can now register to test out the new mobile series entry
Ubisoft has released the first in-game footage of The Division Resurgence.
Announced last week, The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play third-person RPG shooter for iOS and Android.
The new gameplay walkthrough video, which is viewable below, bills it as “a AAA experience featuring a new storyline set in a massive urban open-world”.
It shows the player battling enemies in the streets of New York, and provides a look at Resurgence’s weapon customisation and shooting mechanics.
“This open-world game is a whole new opus to the Tom Clancy’s The Division franchise, with a new storyline, villains and factions,” according to Ubisoft.
“As a player you will be plunged into an independent campaign from The Division 1 and The Division 2.
“As an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division (SHD) your mission is to restore order, to protect civilians against hostile factions, and to help them rebuild a better future.”
The Division Resurgence is being developed by a core lead team at Ubisoft in collaboration with other studios and partners around the world.
Players can currently register to participate in the game’s upcoming closed alpha test.
Ubisoft is also planning to release The Division Heartland during its current fiscal year ending in March 2023.
Announced last year, Heartland is a free-to-play Division spin-off described as “a standalone experience” that provides “an all new perspective on the universe in a new setting”.
A week after Heartland was revealed, 20 minutes of gameplay footage was leaked, along with more information on the title including its 45-player PvEvP mode called Storm.
