Ubisoft has announced a Skull & Bones gameplay reveal event for Thursday
The long-delayed pirate game is reportedly being released in November
Ubisoft has confirmed plans to present a Skull & Bones gameplay reveal this Thursday, June 7.
The main event will take place from 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST.
It promises “new gameplay, our unique take on piracy, and exclusive behind the scenes with developers”.
However, the presentation will start 15 minutes earlier than the times listed above, “with a pre-show full of surprises”.
Ubisoft also announced today that it will hold a “multi-game showcase” in September, which could used to reveal the future of the Assassin’s Creed series.
Skull & Bones is a “multiplayer first” game set in a world inspired by the Indian Ocean during the golden age of piracy.
According to a video which leaked in April, players begin their journey as an underdog whose goal is to become the most infamous pirate to sail the seas.
They start off with a small dhow (trading vessel), but as they progress and their Infamy level rises, they can craft bigger and stronger ships with unique playstyles.
Players earn Infamy in a variety of ways including taking on contracts, which are deals they make with NPCs in the world, some of which can be shared and completed in a group of up to three players.
Infamy is also rewarded by completing activities such as exploration, plundering and treasure hunts, and by participating in big world events.
Skull & Bones was originally scheduled for release in 2018 but it has been delayed on a handful of occasions and was the project was rebooted in 2020.
The Skull & Bones release date is reportedly set for November 8, 2022, although this has yet to be officially announced.
