Ubisoft delays further Ghost Recon Breakpoint fixes and content
Title update originally scheduled for this week now arriving in late January
Ubisoft has delayed the release of a new Ghost Recon Breakpoint title update from this month to January 2020.
Originally scheduled to launch on December 18, title update 1.1.0 will include various bug fixes and the Terminator Live Event, the company said earlier this month.
But on Tuesday it confirmed it had delayed the update in order to further polish the content.
“After careful consideration by the development team, we are choosing to delay the release of the TU until the latter half of January to ensure its quality,” a community manager explained.
“Our goal is to deliver you polished content and meaningful bug fixes, to do that we need a little more time. This means that the Terminator Live Event and the fixes referenced in the monthly update will be coming to you in the new year.”
When it does launch, title update 1.1.0 will include improvements to enemy AI and the game’s base-jumping mechanic, plus the addition of night vision goggles. It should also stop enemies shouting when getting hit with a headshot.
In late November Ubisoft launched Project Titan, the Ghost Recon franchise’s first raid and Breakpoint’s first major content release following the game’s troubled launch.
The Ubisoft Paris-developed shooter released in October and was widely panned by critics, leading to a series of updates designed to improve game quality.
It’s poor critical reception and underperformance at retail also contributed to the delays of Watch Dogs Legion, Gods & Monsters and Rainbow Six Quarantine.
