Ubisoft announces playtest for new session-based co-op shooter ‘Project U’
The game sees “players unite to prevail against an overwhelming threat”
Ubisoft has announced that it’s working on a new co-op shooter codenamed ‘Project U’.
The company said Project U “explores a new concept of session-based co-op shooter, where many players unite to prevail against an overwhelming threat”.
The game is in the early stages of development and will have its first PC-only closed test in western Europe.
While the game will be entirely in English, the test will be available in France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and the UK.
“We’d love to play with you and gather your valuable feedback in order to improve the game experience and steer production in the right direction,” Ubisoft said.
Players can register here for a chance to participate in the upcoming test.
Ubisoft’s troubled Skull & Bones project suffered a fresh setback this week as the game was delayed by a further four months.
An open beta for the pirate game will now be held ahead of its March 9, 2023 release for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Amazon Luna and PC.
“While the game development is finished at this stage, the extra time will be used to further polish and balance the experience using players’ feedback from our Technical tests and Insider Program which happened over the past two weeks” Ubisoft said on Wednesday.
