Two Point Hospital dated for consoles
Game coming to PS4, Xbox One and Switch in February 2020
Sega will release Two Point Hospital for consoles on February 25, 2020.
The management sim is now available to pre-purchase digitally from the Xbox and PlayStation storefronts, with the Switch version set to follow soon.
Created by Bullfrog and Lionhead alumni Gary Carr, Mark Webley and Ben Hymers, the spiritual successor to classic simulation Theme Hospital was released for PC in August 2018.
The console version includes several features added to the PC title post-launch including copy-paste room layouts, character customisation, and the Bigfoot and Pebberley Island expansions.
It also features a rebuilt control scheme “which guarantees smooth play for both on the go and on the couch gaming”.
The console version of the game was originally scheduled to be released this year, but it was delayed in October.
“Put simply,” brand director Craig Laycock said at the time, “making a management simulation game on three consoles (and making it the best it possibly can be on all three), is a tricky programming puzzle.
“We have to take the game apart and figure out how to fit it into what is essentially a smaller box. That takes a fair amount of time and engineering work, and it turns out we need to take a little more to iron out the remaining creases.”
Sega acquired developer Two Point Studios in May 2019.
