Twitter reveals ‘most talked about games’ of 2019
Sony’s mobile RPG Fate/Grand Order dominated chat on the social media platform
Fate/Grand Order was the most talked about game on Twitter in 2019, according to the social media platform.
In an official blog post, Twitter said there were over 1.2 billion tweets about gaming in 2019, up nearly 20% year over year.
Fate/Grand Order is a free-to-play mobile RPG published by Sony-owned Aniplex.
According to analytics firm Sensor Tower, it was the second highest grossing game in the first half of last year ($628 million), behind only Tencent’s Honour of Kings ($728 million), and had generated over $3 billion in player spending as of March 2019, with 82% of the total coming from Japanese players.
Fate/Grand Order was Twitter’s most talked about game of 2019 ahead of Fortnite and Final Fantasy.

Minecraft was YouTube’s most popular game of 2019 with over 100 billion views on the video sharing platform.
The newly revealed PS5 logo broke Instagram like records for a games brand image this week, racking up over five million likes in under 48 hours.
