Twitch star Shroud follows Ninja to Mixer
High profile streamer joins Microsoft’s streaming platform
Another high profile Twitch star has left the Amazon-owned streaming service to join Microsoft’s rival Mixer platform.
Following in the footsteps of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, who left Twitch in August, Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek will also now stream exclusively through Mixer.
Grzesiek, who leaves behind over seven million Twitch followers, has already amassed over 330,000 followers on his Mixer channel.
He said: “Streaming is my passion and I owe my success to my fans who have helped me get to where I am now. Mixer provides the flexibility to center my attention around them.
“I am excited to join the Mixer community, as well as continue to build relationships with both players and fans.
“The move to Mixer allows me to focus on what I love: gaming. I hope you all continue to be a part of my community in this transition, I can’t wait to show you all the things we have in store.”
Microsoft reportedly paid in the region of $50 million to lure Blevins from Twitch to Mixer.
Xbox One’s October update integrated a full Mixer viewing experience into the console’s dashboard, while introducing new family settings designed to balance screen time.
