Toys for Bob could be working on a new Crash Bandicoot, it’s claimed

Toys for Bob could be working on a new Crash Bandicoot game, it has been suggested.

Speaking on the Windows Central Xbox Chaturdays podcast, Windows Central journalist Jez Corden implied that he has knowledge of a new Crash Bandicoot title in development at the studio behind Crash 4: It’s About Time as well as the remake trilogy.

When another guest on the podcast, Rand al Thor, predicted that Toys for Bob could be working on a new Crash title that could possibly be shown at the upcoming Xbox & Bethesda showcase, Corden asked sarcastically “Where did you get that info Rand?” before saying later, “I wasn’t supposed to leak that,” while clearly inferring that it could be true.

VGC reported late last year that Toys For Bob was potentially hiring for non-Call of Duty projects, as suggested by a listing on its internal careers site.

The studio, which developed the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and the Skylanders franchise, had recently been transitioned prominently into a support studio for Call of Duty, specifically the massively successful free-to-play Warzone.

Last year, Activision Blizzard confirmed that all its core studios are now working on the Call of Duty franchise, however at the time Toys for Bob still implied it would be working on the Crash franchise in some form.

The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase will be held on Sunday, June 12.

The event will start at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST and will be streamed in over 30 languages on the likes of YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.
