Titles added to Xbox Game Pass in 2021 were reportedly worth over $6,300
Ultimate tier of the subscription service is priced at $15 / £11 per month
The value of the titles added to Xbox Game Pass in 2021 reportedly exceeded $6,300.
According to The Loadout’s calculations, new games introduced to the service’s console and PC libraries this year were worth $6,317.35 (about £4,780) in total.
The figure is based on the price of each game on the Microsoft Store.
March’s new additions were worth more than any other month in 2021 at $964.67 (£730), while April’s were worth the least at $330.91 (£250), the report claims.
Xbox Game Pass launched in June 2017 and has become central to Microsoft’s gaming business, attracting over 18 million subscribers as of January 2021, according to the latest publicly announced figure.
It offers members access to over 100 titles, including all first-party games at launch, for $10 / £8 per month on console or PC. For $15 / £11, users can access the games on console, PC and mobile devices, including via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
In a recent interview, Xbox boss Phil Spencer claimed Xbox Game Pass is already “sustainable” in its current state.
This month Microsoft rebranded Xbox Game Pass for PC to ‘PC Game Pass’ to separate the service more clearly from its console version.
Ten new titles were added to Xbox Game Pass last week including Firewatch, Mortal Kombat 11, The Gunk and Broken Age.
