THQ Nordic to announce new game during Gamescom live stream
Geoff Keighley-backed event set for August 19
THQ Nordic will announce a new game at Gamescom in August, it’s confirmed.
The title will be unveiled during the Opening Night Live stream on Monday, August 19 at 8:00 PM CEST / 2:00 PM EDT and will be playable at the German show.
THQ Nordic has made several game announcements so far in 2019, most of which are based on classic franchises.
At E3 in June, the company announced new games based on Darksiders, Destroy All Humans and SpongeBob SquarePants.
THQ Nordic currently has unannounced projects in development at Kingdom Come: Deliverance maker Warhorse, the Czech studio THQ Nordic acquired in February 2019, a new game from Volition, and an upcoming title from Metro studio 4A Games.
The Opening Night Live event is being produced by Geoff Keighley and Kimmie H. Kim, executive producers of annual industry show The Game Awards.
According to Gamescom organiser Koelnmesse, Opening Night Live will feature “announcements from major game publishers and independent developers, world premieres of new game footage and special guest appearances from the stars of the gaming industry”.
An audience of over 1,000 people will be in attendance.
