THQ Nordic signs Metro studio’s new game
4A Games working on “undisclosed, AAA-project”
THQ Nordic has signed an upcoming title from Metro studio 4A Games.
In a newly published financial report covering January 2018 to March 2019, the company said: “During the period we signed multiple new projects, among them a new development agreement with 4A Games, the developers of the Metro franchise, for their upcoming, still undisclosed, AAA-project.”
THQ Nordic subsidiary Deep Silver published 4A’s most recent release, Metro Exodus.
In its latest financial report, THQ Nordic said Deep Silver generated net sales of SEK 794 million ($82.35 million / £64.95 million) during the period, “largely driven by the release of Metro Exodus, the largest game launch so far in the history of the group”.
It said the game “performed in line with management’s expectations and has recouped all investments in development and marketing”.
Deep Silver announced last week that Metro Exodus is to receive two story expansions, featuring a new playable character and weapon.
Set for release this summer and in early 2020, both add-ons will be available as part of a $24.99/£19.99 expansion pass or purchasable separately.
