The Silent Hill 2 remake has a release date
The game will come to PS5 in October
Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 finally has a release date.
The game will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8, 2024.
The date was confirmed in a new trailer, which was shown during Sony‘s State of Play presentation.
The Silent Hill 2 remake has been the subject of much debate since its announcement, and a second trailer in January 2024 which focused on combat did nothing to quell it.
This second trailer proved divisive, and currently only has 51% likes vs dislikes on YouTube.
The following month, Bloober Team president Piotr Babieno said the trailer “does not reflect the spirit of the game”, saying the marketing side of things was Konami‘s responsibility.
A screenshot of the game that was added to the backend of the game’s Steam database entry last month appeared to show that Bloober Team has given its protagonist a makeover to make him look younger.
Last month Bloober Team said during its annual report that it was “very confident about the final result” of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
“We don’t hide it internally or externally – this is the most important test of our actions,” the report said.
