The Resident Evil 4 remake will add The Mercenaries mode as free DLC in April
Capcom has also released the launch trailer for the game, which is out today
Capcom has confirmed that The Mercenaries mode will be released for the Resident Evil 4 remake next month.
The Mercenaries, which challenges players to kill as many enemies as possible within a time limit, will launch on April 7 as free DLC.
Capcom revealed the DLC’s release date at the end of the Resident Evil 4 launch trailer, which is viewable below.
Capcom is also planning to release a Resident Evil 4 remake VR mode as free DLC for PS5 and PS VR2.
The company confirmed last month that it had started development of the VR mode, but it didn’t announce a launch window.
Resident Evil 4 was released today for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam.

VGC’s Resident Evil 4 review called the remake a faithful restoration of an all-time classic.
“The Capcom dev team’s commitment to authenticity is a testament to the enduring quality of Shinji Mikami’s original masterpiece, which is still tremendous and now feels thoroughly modern thanks to some subtle but smart evolutions,” we said.
“Those expecting surprising Final Fantasy 7 Remake-style deviations from the original template should keep their expectations in check because, in comparison, Capcom’s game feels like a more safe reinterpretation. But when the original game still stands up so well, that’s far from a bad thing.”
