Microsoft looks set to revamp design ahead of Series X launch

The redesigned Xbox Store has leaked in a new video

An Xbox Store redesign has been leaked via a new video.

The redesign, codenamed ‘Mercury’, was captured by Thurrott and features significant design changes such as sidebar navigation and interface elements taken from Microsoft’s Fluent Design initiative.

It’s not clear when the new look will be introduced for the Xbox Store. However, it’s possible Microsoft could be planning to redesign the Xbox Dashboard to coincide with the Xbox Series X launch later this year.

Microsoft recently reiterated its intention to launch Xbox Series X in holiday 2020, despite some manufacturing and logistical disruption caused by the coronavirus.

Gaming boss Phil Spencer indicated last month that game production was a “bigger unknown” than the Series X hardware due to complications caused by remote working.

The exec told CNBC he “feels good” about the current state of game production but added that the safety of his employees and customers is paramount.
