The Prince of Persia remake is not coming to Switch or releasing in November, analyst claims
Ubisoft is expected to announce the game at an event on September 10
The anticipated but unannounced Prince of Persia remake won’t be released for Nintendo Switch, nor will it release this November.
That’s according to Daniel Ahmad, senior analyst at Niko Partners, who said that a recent retailer leak for the product “was wrong in terms of platform and date”.
In August, Max.com.gt published and then pulled a listing for ‘Prince of Persia Remake’ for PS4 and Switch with an estimated November 2020 release date.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier subsequently said the title will be announced at the Ubisoft Forward games showcase on September 10 – a claim VGC’s own Ubisoft sources later backed up.
The Prince of Persia series hasn’t seen a full instalment since 2010’s The Forgotten Sands. In 2018 Ubisoft released a mobile spin-off, Escape, but otherwise the series has been superseded by Assassin’s Creed, a franchise which itself started life as a Prince of Persia spin-off.
July’s first Ubisoft Forward event was used to announce a Watch Dogs Legion release date of October 29, 2020, an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla release date of November 17, 2020, and a Far Cry 6 release date of February 18, 2021.
