The Portal games are coming to Switch today
Portal: Companion Collection includes both Valve puzzle shooters
Portal: Companion Collection, a two-game compilation of Valve’s puzzle FPS, will release for Nintendo Switch today, the company has announced.
Developed in co-operation with Nvidia Lightspeed Studios, the Companion Collection costs $19.99 / £13.49.
According to Valve, the Switch version runs at 60 frames per second, at “up to full HD resolution”.
“We’re excited to be able to introduce Nintendo Switch players to the world of Portal,” said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of publisher and developer relations. “Working together with Valve, we believe the Companion Collection is a natural fit for Nintendo Switch.”
“PC gamers have long been able to play the series that’s earned hundreds of awards for its groundbreaking gameplay, dark humor, and exploration.” reads a press release from Valve. “Today, Valve is thrilled to begin welcoming Nintendo Switch players into the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories”.
A description for the game reads: “Solve mind-bendingly bizarre puzzles and face off against a lethally inventive, power-mad A.I. named GLaDOS. Meet an expanded cast of characters as you think your way through dangerous, never-before-seen areas of the laboratories and a wider variety of portal puzzles.
“Plus, Portal 2 includes a co-operative game mode with local, split screen and online multiplayer, so you and a friend can act and think cooperatively.”
