The Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis closed beta has been dated
Try out Sega’s online action RPG in May
Sega will hold a Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis closed beta test in May, ahead of the game’s release later in 2021.
Registration for the PC beta will open on April 21, while the test itself will be held from May 14-16 in the US (May 15-17 in Europe).
“One of the goals for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is to create the ultimate PSO2 in which the time-tested elements are kept intact, while the game design, gameplay and graphics engine will be completely redesigned and reborn in all aspects,” according to Sega.
“We are working very hard to offer players unparalleled character customisation, limitless adventure and the best action online RPG available on the Xbox One or PC.”
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will also support Xbox Series X in the future. The game will be available for Switch and PS4 in Japan too.
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis beta:
Registration starts: April 21 at 10am ET / 1pm PT / 6pm BST
End date: May 16 at 7pm PT / 10pm ET (May 17 at 3am BST)
Platform: Windows 10 PC (Microsoft Store)
Phantasy Star Online 2 released for Xbox One in April 2020 and for PC the following month.
The game originally released for PC in Japan in 2012 and has also seen Japanese releases for PlayStation Vita, PS4 and Switch.
