The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC
An enhanced version of Obsidian’s sci-fi RPG will be released next week
Private Division has announced The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC
The updated version of Obsidian’s 2019 game, which was first outed by the Taiwanese ratings board last October, will be released digitally on March 7.
According to its publisher, Spacer’s Choice Edition features higher resolution graphics, a dynamic weather system, overhauled lighting and environments, improved performance and load times, enhanced details on characters, and an increased level cap.
It includes The Outer Worlds base game and both its narrative expansions, Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon, for £49.99.
Players who already own the game and both DLC packs for Xbox One, PS4 or PC can upgrade to the Spacer’s Choice Edition for $9.99 / £5.
Microsoft, which acquired Obsidian in November 2018, has said it hopes to build The Outer Worlds into an “enduring franchise”.
And in June 2021, Obsidian announced The Outer Worlds 2 for Xbox Series X/S and PC with a comedic trailer indicating the game was nowhere near ready.
Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart recently said he’d love to work on another Fallout game given the chance.
The RPG veteran was involved in the production of the first two Fallout games during his time at Black Isle Studios and Interplay Entertainment in the late 1990s, and Obsidian developed 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas.
