The Outer Worlds 2’s comedy trailer says the game’s nowhere near ready
Obsidian’s game is coming to Xbox, but is seemingly a long way off
Obsidian Entertainment has released a humorous trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 that jokes about how far the game is from completion.
The narrator explains various aspects of the trailer as they play out, including how “pointless slow motion shots” look cool and how “BWAAAAHH” sounds are effective.
As the protagonist steps out to look over a cliff edge, the narrator then says: “Now we see our hero, but only their silhouette, because the developers haven’t finished the design, or finished the story, or finished any gameplay that’s actually ready to show.
“In fact, the only thing they have finished is the title.”
News spread last October that Obsidian was working on a second Outer Worlds game.
Daniel Ahmad, senior analyst at Niko Partners, tweeted: “Last I heard a new entry in the franchise is being explored, currently in pre-production.
“Could change into something else of course, but this is the current status.”
