The next Smash Bros. DLC character is Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7
Fan-favourite villain to release this month
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s next DLC fighter is Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, Nintendo announced at The Game Awards on Thursday.
The Final Fantasy character will be released sometime this month, a reveal trailer confirmed.
Nintendo added after the premiere that it would publish a presentation from director Masahiro Sakurai all about the DLC fighter, including a release date, at 2pm PT on 12/17.
The fighter – the third of Ultimate’s second Fighters Pass – is the latest to be revealed via the December awards event, following its very first – Joker from Persona 5 – in 2018.
Smash Bros.’ last fighter, Steve from Minecraft, was revealed in October and caused Twitter to crash. Game director Masahiro Sakurai has said that the current DLC Fighters Pass is likely to be the game’s last.
