The next free Epic Games Store titles have been announced

The Epic Games Store’s next free titles have been confirmed.

Model Builder and Soulstice will be free to claim from Epic’s PC marketplace from September 28 until October 5.

The former is a simulation game that lets players cut out, assemble, paint and customise models, while the latter offers “a coming-of-age dark fantasy story with fast-paced action, vicious enemies, and spectacular boss fights”.

Model Builder and Soulstice will replace Out of Line and The Forest Quartet, which are now free to claim until September 28.

Out of Line is billed as “a unique adventure game filled with beautiful puzzles all hand-drawn in a unique 2D style,” while The Forest Quartet is “a 3D narrative puzzler about a gone, but not forgotten, lead singer”.

The Epic Games Store gave away 99 free titles last year (up from 89 in 2021). These games had a combined worth of $2,240 and users claimed over 700 million free titles (down from 765 million in 2021), according to Epic.

The company’s CEO, Tim Sweeney, said in March that players should expect to see further high-profile Epic Games Store exclusives in the future.

And last month the Fortnite maker announced a new Epic Games Store exclusivity scheme.

The Epic First Run programme allows developers of any size to claim 100% of revenue if they agree to make their game exclusive on the Epic Games Store for six months.

After the six months are up, the game will revert to the standard Epic Games Store revenue split of 88% for the developer and 12% for Epic.
